Nagpur Civic Body to Use Well Water

Nagpur Municipal Corporation will not use potable water for its 447 artificial immersion tanks this year due to deficient monsoon. Municipal commissioner Vipin Itankar stated that well water will be used instead, with water pumped from adjoining lakes for permanent tanks. This decision aims to conserve treated drinking water, which is crucial given the low rainfall and El Nino conditions.

नागपुर म्युनिसिपल कॉर्पोरेशन इस साल 447 कृत्रिम टैंकों में पीने लायक पानी का इस्तेमाल नहीं करेगा, क्योंकि बारिश कम हुई है। म्युनिसिपल कमिश्नर विपिन इटणकर ने बताया कि इसके बजाय कुओं का पानी इस्तेमाल होगा। साथ ही, पक्के टैंकों के लिए पास की झीलों से पानी खींचा जाएगा। यह फैसला पीने के साफ पानी को बचाने के लिए है, जो कम बारिश और अल नीनो के कारण बहुत ज़रूरी है।
