Businessman's Anticipatory Bail Plea Dismissed in Veeramani Case

A special court in Chennai has dismissed the anticipatory bail petition of businessman Prakash Kannaiah, who is being investigated in connection with child rape cases involving Gem Granites chairman R Veeramani. SIT officials revealed they have frozen a bank account belonging to Prakash with a ₹24 crore balance and obtained his transaction records. Kannaiah, believed to be in London, had sought bail after being summoned by the SIT. The prosecution argued that granting bail would impede the ongoing investigation into alleged financial transactions.
