India Enhances Car Safety With Bharat NCAP 2.0

India is set to upgrade its vehicle safety standards with Bharat NCAP 2.0, planned for October 2027. This new phase will assess a car's safety throughout the entire chain, including collision avoidance, occupant protection, and post-accident scenarios. Union minister Nitin Gadkari announced the timeline, building on the current Bharat NCAP program which began in October 2023. The voluntary program, managed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, currently rates vehicles on adult and child occupant protection, and safety assist technologies.

भारत अक्टूबर 2027 से अपने वाहनों की सुरक्षा के मानकों को और बेहतर बनाने जा रहा है। भारत NCAP 2.0 के तहत, अब गाड़ियों की टक्कर से बचने की क्षमता, अंदर बैठे लोगों की सुरक्षा और दुर्घटना के बाद की स्थिति का भी मूल्यांकन होगा। सड़क परिवहन मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने यह जानकारी दी। यह मौजूदा भारत NCAP प्रोग्राम का अगला चरण है, जो अक्टूबर 2023 में शुरू हुआ था।
