Meta AI chief Alexandr Wang has revealed that former Apple executive Daniel Gross was instrumental in fostering collaboration between Meta and Apple. The two tech giants, previously at odds over privacy issues, are now working together to run Meta's 816-billion-parameter Muse Spark Open AI model on Apple's high-end Mac Studio computers. This partnership allows the powerful AI model to operate across multiple Mac Studios powered by Apple's M5 Ultra chips, utilizing Apple's MLX framework. Wang stated that Gross, now at Meta, played a significant role in facilitating this renewed cooperation.
