Elon Musk has unveiled the Tesla Roadster 2, a vehicle capable of flight, after nearly a decade in development. During a demonstration at SpaceX's Texas facility, the electric supercar drove upside-down on a ramp, flipped, and remained airborne for several seconds before landing safely. Tesla's VP of vehicle engineering confirmed that SpaceX thrusters enable the "flying" technology, using compressed air for lift. While reservations are open for 'Performance' and 'Thrust' variants, the 'Rocket' model is invite-only, and the car is slated for production in 2028.
