Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has flagged significant price disparities between procurement costs and maximum retail prices for essential medical devices. A survey revealed IV sets costing ₹11.05 had an MRP of ₹325, and syringes bought for ₹6.75 had an MRP of ₹57.20. The FDA seeks Centre's intervention to regulate prices, increase transparency, and reduce out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for patients who often lack the ability to compare costs.
