Rural India Medical Trips Double Urban Peers

Data from the National Statistics Office's latest survey reveals a significant trend: 38.4 per cent of overnight trips by rural Indians are for medical care, more than double the rate for their urban counterparts. While leisure drives 36.4 per cent of urban trips, it accounts for only 12.5 per cent in villages. Health-related journeys are also the most expensive, with rural households spending an average of ₹29,454, primarily on treatment and medicines.

राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी कार्यालय के ताज़ा सर्वे के अनुसार, ग्रामीण भारतीय रात भर के सफ़र में से 38.4% इलाज के लिए करते हैं। यह शहरी लोगों के मुकाबले दोगुना से भी ज़्यादा है। शहरी लोग जहाँ 36.4% बार घूमने-फिरने जाते हैं, वहीं गाँव में यह आंकड़ा सिर्फ़ 12.5% है। स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं पर होने वाला ख़र्च भी सबसे ज़्यादा है, ग्रामीण परिवारों का औसतन ₹29,454 इलाज और दवाइयों पर ख़र्च होता है।
