A special PMLA court in Mumbai has permitted the sale of assets worth Rs 3,464 crore attached by the ED in the NSEL case. This move aims to facilitate a Rs 1,950 crore settlement for 5,682 creditors affected by the 2013 payment defaults. The settlement, approved by NCLT and upheld by higher courts, offers creditors a minimum recovery of around 42% of their verified claims. Proceeds exceeding the settlement amount will remain with the court pending final orders, marking a significant step towards investor restitution.
