New CBSE Chief Appointed Amidst Controversy

Mandeep K Bhandari, a senior IAS officer, has been appointed the new chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This marks the third chairperson to lead the board in less than four months. The recent appointments follow a controversy surrounding the board's On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. Bhandari, a 2001-batch IAS officer, previously served as principal secretary to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. His appointment ends the interim arrangement for the post.

मंदीप के भंडारी, एक वरिष्ठ IAS अधिकारी, को CBSE का नया अध्यक्ष बनाया गया है। यह चार महीने से भी कम समय में बोर्ड के तीसरे अध्यक्ष होंगे। यह नियुक्ति बोर्ड की ऑन-स्क्रीन मार्किंग (OSM) सिस्टम को लेकर हुए विवाद के बाद हुई है। 2001 बैच के IAS अधिकारी भंडारी, इससे पहले जम्मू और कश्मीर के उपराज्यपाल के प्रधान सचिव रह चुके हैं। उनकी नियुक्ति से इस पद पर चल रही अंतरिम व्यवस्था समाप्त हो गई है।
