The Mumbai Crime Branch has intensified its investigation into the alleged suicide of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode. So far, 40 individuals, including Sahil's parents, classmates, and hostel staff, have provided official statements. The investigation team is also examining Sahil's electronic devices to understand the events leading up to his death. Sahil's parents are on an indefinite hunger strike, alleging severe caste discrimination and harassment against their son at the institute. A professor has been booked for abetment to suicide based on the father's complaint.
