Pandal Collapse at Wildlife Week Event Prompts Police, Forest Dept Probe

Separate investigations have been launched by the police and forest department into the collapse of a temporary pandal and stage at Thekkady's state-level Wildlife Week celebrations. The structure, erected at the Anavachal parking ground, collapsed, an hour after Forest Minister Shibu Baby John and other officials had departed. Four individuals, including three police personnel, sustained injuries in the incident. The structure's owner is from Kattappana, and authorities are examining construction and safety aspects. Dismantled materials remain at the site pending an engineer's examination.
