Bernstein Cuts Nifty Target to 25,000; LTCG Tax Cut Insufficient
Business Standard · stocks
Bernstein has lowered its December 2026 Nifty 50 target to 25,000 from 26,000, citing macroeconomic challenges, oil and supply chain pressures, and a lack of earnings upgrades. The brokerage believes a reduction in long-term capital gains tax alone will not attract sustained foreign institutional investor inflows. Bernstein also noted that further rallies could push Indian equities beyond their valuation comfort zone. They also see limited benefit from AI trade for India, as the market lacks the required return profile and investment opportunities.
