Madras HC dismisses MLA election plea

The petitioner alleged the MLA suppressed property details in his election affidavit. The court refused to grant liberty, noting the 45-day period for filing an election petition had expired. The petitioner, a voter, had accused the MLA of concealing immovable properties owned by him and his wife, arguing it affected voters' right to know.

मद्रास HC ने MLA चुनाव याचिका खारिज की

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने डीएमके विधायक जी.वी. मार्कंडेयन के विलाथििकुलम से चुनाव को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका खारिज कर दी है। याचिकाकर्ता ने आरोप लगाया था कि विधायक ने अपने हलफनामे में संपत्ति का ब्यौरा छुपाया था। कोर्ट ने याचिका स्वीकार नहीं की क्योंकि चुनाव याचिका दायर करने की 45 दिन की अवधि समाप्त हो चुकी थी। एक मतदाता ने विधायक पर अपनी और पत्नी की अचल संपत्ति छिपाने का आरोप लगाया था।
