The Madras High Court has directed the transport department to submit a report on missing ticket books in state transport corporations over the last five years and the preventive measures taken. Justice B Pugalendhi suggested providing safety boxes to conductors to avoid future incidents. The court was hearing petitions from conductors suspended and facing salary recovery for missing unused ticket books, who argued they reported the losses and lacked locker facilities. The judge noted similar incidents are ongoing and that settlements stipulate no recovery in cases of theft or accident.

मद्रास हाईकोर्ट ने परिवहन विभाग को पिछले पांच सालों में राज्य परिवहन निगमों में लापता टिकट बुक और उठाए गए निवारक उपायों पर एक रिपोर्ट जमा करने का निर्देश दिया है। जस्टिस बी पुगलेंदी ने भविष्य की घटनाओं से बचने के लिए कंडक्टरों को सुरक्षा बॉक्स देने का सुझाव दिया। अदालत कंडक्टरों द्वारा दायर याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई कर रही थी, जिन्हें लापता अप्रयुक्त टिकट बुक के लिए निलंबित कर दिया गया था और वेतन वसूली का सामना करना पड़ रहा था। उन्होंने तर्क दिया कि उन्होंने नुकसान की सूचना दी थी और उनके पास लॉकर की सुविधा नहीं थी।
