Shimla Ropeway Project Put On Hold

The Himachal Pradesh government has halted the proposed Shimla ropeway project due to the state's "precarious financial condition." The government informed the Himachal Pradesh High Court that the financial bid for the project has been cancelled. However, the state Ropeways and Rapid Transport System Development Corporation is exploring alternative models, including a public-private partnership with viability gap funding, to minimize state expenditure. The project aimed to ease traffic congestion and improve urban mobility in Shimla.

शिमला रोपवे परियोजना पर रोक लगी

हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार ने राज्य की "खराब वित्तीय हालत" के चलते प्रस्तावित शिमला रोपवे प्रोजेक्ट को रोक दिया है। सरकार ने हिमाचल प्रदेश हाई कोर्ट को बताया कि प्रोजेक्ट के लिए वित्तीय बोली रद्द कर दी गई है। हालांकि, राज्य की रोपवेज एंड रैपिड ट्रांसपोर्ट सिस्टम डेवलपमेंट कॉर्पोरेशन, राज्य के खर्च को कम करने के लिए पब्लिक-प्राइवेट पार्टनरशिप जैसे वैकल्पिक मॉडल पर विचार कर रही है। इस प्रोजेक्ट का मकसद शिमला में ट्रैफिक जाम कम करना और शहरी आवाजाही को बेहतर बनाना था।
