Two Women Die in Nalasopara Building Fire; Navratri Power Link Suspected
Times of India · india
A devastating fire in Nalasopara's 14-storey Imperial Heritage building claimed the lives of two women and injured six others on Tuesday night. The deceased, Falguni Shah and Ashwini Parkar, both 58 and 55, died from smoke inhalation. Authorities suspect a short circuit, potentially linked to a temporary power connection for a Navratri event, may have ignited the blaze. Firefighters rescued over 25 trapped residents, with the fire raging for six hours. The building, completed in 2022, reportedly had non-operational fire safety equipment.
