Bengal School Books To Replace 'Abba-Ammi' With 'Baba-Ma', Remove Mughal History

West Bengal's school textbooks are set for a significant overhaul, with plans to replace common words like 'pani' (water) with 'jol' and 'abba' (father) with 'baba' in Bengali language books. History textbooks will also see changes, reducing content on Mughal rule, British history, and Marxist ideology. Information on Hindu nationalist leader Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee will be incorporated. The first edition of the revised books is targeted for January 2027, with over 12 crore copies to be published.

पश्चिम बंगाल की स्कूल की किताबों में बड़े बदलाव होने वाले हैं। बंगाली भाषा की किताबों में 'पानी' की जगह 'जल' और 'अब्बा' की जगह 'बाबा' जैसे आम शब्दों को बदलने की योजना है। इतिहास की किताबों में भी बदलाव होंगे, जिसमें मुग़ल शासन, ब्रिटिश इतिहास और मार्क्सवादी विचारधारा पर सामग्री कम की जाएगी। हिंदू राष्ट्रवादी नेता डॉ. श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी के बारे में जानकारी शामिल की जाएगी। संशोधित किताबों के पहले संस्करण को जनवरी 2027 तक प्रकाशित करने का लक्ष्य है, जिसमें 12 करोड़ से ज़्यादा कॉपियाँ छापी जाएंगी।
