Russia's Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev met Pakistan's army chief Asim Munir in Rawalpindi, while Russia's intelligence chief visited Kabul. This comes as Pakistan and Afghanistan have engaged in a year of cross-border attacks and threats, with previous mediation efforts by Qatar, Turkiye, and China failing to secure a lasting ceasefire. Moscow has expressed concern over the escalating conflict, which has resulted in civilian casualties, including children. Russia's special representative for Afghanistan stated readiness to broker peace if requested by both nations.
