The Hindu · india

Keralam will conduct a statewide vulnerability mapping to identify children living in difficult conditions. This initiative by the Women and Child Development department aims to ensure care, protection, and rehabilitation for vulnerable children. The decision follows the recent death of a two-year-old toddler in Alappuzha due to suspected malnutrition. District Women and Child Development Officers will be held fully responsible for children's safety and rehabilitation, with support from local government, health, and police departments. Coordination between departments will be strengthened to ensure regular child protection meetings and timely interventions.
