Gurgaon Flat Buyer Gets Rs 1.73 Crore Refund With 12% Interest After Decade-Long Wait

A homebuyer who paid Rs 1.73 crore for a Gurgaon flat in 2012 and waited over a decade without possession has been awarded a full refund with 12% interest. The buyer booked a 2,600 sq ft apartment with a promised handover within three years. However, the builder failed to complete construction, leading the buyer to pursue legal action after seven years. The builder alleged the purchase was for commercial gain, but the consumer commission ruled in favour of the homebuyer, ordering the refund and an additional Rs 4 lakh compensation.

एक होमबायर जिसने 2012 में Gurgaon में एक फ्लैट के लिए 1.73 करोड़ रुपये का भुगतान किया था और एक दशक से ज़्यादा समय तक पज़ेशन का इंतज़ार किया, उसे 12% ब्याज के साथ पूरा रिफंड दिया गया है। खरीदार ने 2,600 वर्ग फुट का अपार्टमेंट बुक किया था, जिसका पज़ेशन तीन साल के अंदर देने का वादा किया गया था। हालाँकि, बिल्डर निर्माण पूरा करने में विफल रहा, जिससे खरीदार को सात साल बाद कानूनी कार्रवाई करनी पड़ी। बिल्डर ने आरोप लगाया कि खरीद व्यावसायिक लाभ के लिए की गई थी, लेकिन उपभोक्ता आयोग ने होमबायर के पक्ष में फैसला सुनाया, रिफंड और 4 लाख रुपये के अतिरिक्त मुआवजे का आदेश दिया।
