India Bonds Rally As Oil Prices Drop Below

Economic Times Markets · stocks

Indian government bonds saw gains on Tuesday as global oil prices fell below $100 a barrel, easing inflation concerns. India imports about 90% of its crude oil, making it vulnerable to price swings. The benchmark 6.94% 2036 bond yield decreased by 4 basis points to 7.0106%. Traders anticipate yields may struggle to stay below 7% before the Reserve Bank of India's October rates decision. Brent crude futures also declined amid potential easing of tensions.
