Hazaribag Municipal Corporation Launches Cleanliness Drive at Okni Pond After NGT Rap

Following a reprimand from the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Hazaribag Municipal Corporation initiated a special cleanliness drive at Okni pond. Municipal officials, public representatives, and sanitation workers collaborated to clear accumulated waste from the pond and its surrounding public areas. The NGT had previously issued notices to local officials for failing to conserve the waterbody and warned of property attachment proceedings. Municipal Commissioner Om Prakash Gupta emphasized the need for public participation in maintaining city cleanliness, urging residents to avoid dumping waste and cooperate with initiatives.

नेशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्यूनल (NGT) की फटकार के बाद हज़ारीबाग नगर निगम ने ओकेनी तालाब में एक विशेष स्वच्छता अभियान शुरू किया। नगर निगम के अधिकारी, जन प्रतिनिधि और सफाई कर्मचारियों ने मिलकर तालाब और उसके आसपास के सार्वजनिक इलाकों से जमा कचरे को हटाया। NGT ने पहले जल निकाय के संरक्षण में विफलता के लिए स्थानीय अधिकारियों को नोटिस जारी किया था और संपत्ति कुर्की की कार्यवाही की चेतावनी दी थी। नगर आयुक्त ओम प्रकाश गुप्ता ने शहर की स्वच्छता बनाए रखने में जनता की भागीदारी की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया, निवासियों से कचरा न फेंकने और पहलों के साथ सहयोग करने का आग्रह किया।
