Kumbh Authority Concerned Over Slow Land Acquisition For Sadhugram Expansion

The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) has expressed concern over the slow pace of land acquisition for Sadhugram and other infrastructure projects for the 2027 Simhasth Kumbh Mela. NTKMA has urged the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) to expedite the process, including compensation for landowners, to ensure timely project execution. The Sadhugram, which housed sadhus in 350 acres in 2015, needs to expand to nearly 1,400 acres for the upcoming event. This expansion includes temporary requisitioning of land from farmers and permanent acquisition for facilities.
