India's 10-Year Bond Sees Best Day Since April on Falling Oil Prices
Economic Times Markets · stocks
India's benchmark 10-year government bond experienced its best trading day since early April on Monday, driven by a significant drop in global oil prices. Brent crude futures fell nearly 5%, easing inflation and fiscal pressures for India, the world's third-largest oil importer. This decline tempered expectations of aggressive monetary policy tightening. The 6.94% 2036 bond yield fell by nearly 10 basis points to 7.3154%. Investors are now awaiting the US midterm election results to gauge their impact on oil prices and potential interest rate paths.
