Man Sentenced To 7 Years Jail For Attempting To Sexually Assault 12-Year-Old Girl

An Attingal fast-track court has sentenced 36-year-old Haripada Das from West Bengal to seven years of imprisonment and a Rs 1 lakh fine for attempting to sexually assault a 12-year-old girl. The court ordered an additional four months of jail time if the fine is not paid. The prosecution stated that Das forcibly entered the survivor's house and attempted the assault, leading to a case registered under the Pocso Act. During the trial, 16 witnesses and 19 documents were presented as evidence.

अत्तिंगल फास्ट-ट्रैक कोर्ट ने पश्चिम बंगाल के 36 वर्षीय हरिPada दास को 12 साल की बच्ची से रेप की कोशिश करने के आरोप में सात साल की कैद और 1 लाख रुपये जुर्माने की सजा सुनाई है। कोर्ट ने यह भी कहा कि अगर जुर्माना नहीं भरा गया तो उसे चार महीने की अतिरिक्त जेल भुगतनी होगी। अभियोजन पक्ष ने बताया कि दास ने पीड़िता के घर में जबरन घुसकर रेप की कोशिश की थी, जिसके बाद Pocso Act के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया था। सुनवाई के दौरान 16 गवाहों और 19 दस्तावेजों को सबूत के तौर पर पेश किया गया।
