US President Donald Trump announced that India and the United States are nearing a trade agreement after over a year of negotiations, describing it as a potentially "different kind of deal." This optimism was echoed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who called the deal "incredibly close" during his visit to India. Rubio and Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held discussions in Mumbai, reaffirming commitment to an early conclusion of the proposed Bilateral Trade Agreement.
