Indonesia Rain to Ease Toxic Haze in Singapore and Malaysia
Mint · environment
Indonesia is expecting more consistent rainfall next month, offering some relief from the toxic haze caused by wildfires that have affected Singapore and Malaysia. While recent showers have helped, heavier rain is not anticipated until early December in key fire regions like Kalimantan. The severe haze, stemming from Indonesia's worst fire season in years, has led to school closures, increased demand for air purifiers, and strained diplomatic relations. Singapore's foreign minister met with Jakarta officials to address tensions, resulting in a joint taskforce agreement.
