India has proposed senior diplomat Sudhakar Dalela as its next ambassador to Nepal, with the formal request for agrément dispatched on Tuesday. Dalela, currently secretary (economic relations) and Brics Sherpa, has prior experience in India-Nepal relations from his roles in the external affairs ministry. The ambassadorial post in Kathmandu became vacant following the retirement of Naveen Srivastava earlier this month. Dalela's extensive diplomatic career includes postings in various countries and roles focusing on economic policy and South Asian affairs.

भारत ने वरिष्ठ राजनयिक सुधाकर दलेला को नेपाल में अपना अगला राजदूत बनाने का प्रस्ताव दिया है, जिसकी औपचारिक स्वीकृति के लिए मंगलवार को अनुरोध भेजा गया। दलेला, जो वर्तमान में सचिव (आर्थिक संबंध) और ब्रिक्स शेरपा हैं, को विदेश मंत्रालय में अपनी भूमिकाओं से भारत-नेपाल संबंधों का पूर्व अनुभव है। काठमांडू में राजदूत का पद इस महीने की शुरुआत में नवीन श्रीवास्तव की सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद खाली हो गया था। दलेला के व्यापक राजनयिक करियर में विभिन्न देशों में तैनाती और आर्थिक नीति तथा दक्षिण एशियाई मामलों पर केंद्रित भूमिकाएँ शामिल हैं।
