Dr Reddy's Secures Brazil Approval For Generic Ozempic

Indian pharmaceutical company Dr Reddy's Laboratories has received regulatory approval from ANVISA to sell a generic version of Novo Nordisk's popular diabetes drug, Ozempic. This authorization allows for the marketing of generic semaglutide, the active ingredient, for adults with type 2 diabetes. Brazil, with 16.6 million adults living with diabetes, ranks sixth globally in diabetes prevalence. Dr Reddy's views generic semaglutide as a significant growth driver and plans further launches in Latin America and Africa.
