SCR Upgrades Kavach Train Safety System to Version

South Central Railway has upgraded its indigenous train collision avoidance system, Kavach, to Version 4.0 on the Malkajgiri-Kamareddy section near Hyderabad, covering 108 route km. This marks the first deployment of Version 4.0 on the zone. Kavach is designed to enhance safety by reducing human error, preventing signal passing at danger, over-speeding, and collisions. The upgraded version offers improved location accuracy and better signal information transmission.
