Cummins India Shares Plunge 15% After Q2 Profit Falls 19% Amid Margin Squeeze

Economic Times · business

Cummins India's shares plummeted by 15% to Rs 4,037 on Thursday following a significant 19% year-on-year drop in Q2 net profit to Rs 507 crore. The company's EBITDA margin contracted sharply by 680 basis points to 13.9% from 21% in the same quarter last year. While domestic and export sales saw modest growth, commodity and freight inflation, coupled with an unfavorable product mix, severely impacted profitability. The company anticipates steady demand but faces ongoing uncertainties from geopolitical developments and inflationary pressures.
