A speeding government bus lost control and crashed into a bus stop in Theni district, killing a woman and her son. The deceased were identified as Sumathi, 46, and her son Vijay Praveen, 25. Sumathi's husband, Manivasagam, 59, sustained critical injuries and is receiving treatment. The family was waiting to travel to a temple when the bus hit them before crashing into shops and a tree. The bus driver and conductor fled the scene, and police have registered a case.
