The draft National Electricity Policy 2026 has been sent to the Union Cabinet for inter-ministerial discussion, according to Power Secretary Pankaj Agarwal. The policy aims to ensure financial viability and adequate, reliable power supply while meeting demand. Designed in line with the Viksit Bharat vision 2047, it addresses current challenges like grid management and transmission systems, unlike the 2005 policy which focused on access and shortages.

बिजली सचिव पंकज अग्रवाल ने बताया कि ड्राफ्ट नेशनल इलेक्ट्रिसिटी पॉलिसी 2026 को अंतर-मंत्रालयी चर्चा के लिए केंद्रीय कैबिनेट को भेज दिया गया है। इस पॉलिसी का लक्ष्य मांग पूरी करते हुए वित्तीय स्थिरता और भरोसेमंद बिजली आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करना है। यह 2047 के विकसित भारत विजन के अनुरूप है और ग्रिड प्रबंधन जैसी मौजूदा चुनौतियों से निपटती है।
