India has emerged as the world's second-largest market for gold bars and coins, following China, according to a World Gold Council report. Demand for bars and coins rose 9% to 55 tonnes in the September quarter, despite a 40% year-on-year decline. This dip was attributed to a high base last year and reduced investor enthusiasm due to moderating price increases. However, the report indicates that investment demand remains robust, with digital gold also seeing significant growth, driven by convenience and accessibility.
