Iran Considers US Memorandum Valid, Seeks Peace

Iran believes a previously signed memorandum with the US remains in effect and is willing to return to diplomatic solutions for conflict resolution. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated Iran's interest in ending hostilities and defending its rights. The memorandum, mediated by Islamabad, called for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. However, the US resumed strikes on July 8, citing violations of agreements concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
