Karnataka HC: No Major Injury Doesn't Rule Out Attempt To Murder Charge

The Karnataka High Court has refused to quash proceedings against four individuals accused of assaulting a pregnant woman. The court stated that the absence of a serious injury does not automatically dismiss an attempt to murder charge, especially when the assault allegedly targeted the abdomen of a woman in an advanced stage of pregnancy. The accused had argued that the victim sustained only a simple injury and later delivered a healthy baby.

कर्नाटक हाई कोर्ट ने एक गर्भवती महिला पर हमला करने के आरोपी चार लोगों के खिलाफ कार्यवाही रद्द करने से इनकार कर दिया है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि गंभीर चोट न होने का मतलब यह नहीं है कि हत्या के प्रयास का आरोप अपने आप खारिज हो जाए, खासकर तब जब हमला कथित तौर पर गर्भावस्था के अंतिम चरण में एक महिला के पेट पर किया गया हो। आरोपियों ने दलील दी थी कि पीड़ित को केवल मामूली चोट आई थी और बाद में उसने एक स्वस्थ बच्चे को जन्म दिया।
