Justice Karol highlighted that Chhath Puja exemplifies secularism as people from various communities come together. He emphasized that India's constitutional spirit is best understood by engaging with society, not just through legal texts. The former judge also called the UCC a necessity of the times.

पूर्व सुप्रीम कोर्ट जज जस्टिस संजय कारोल ने यूनिफॉर्म सिविल कोड (UCC) और सेक्युलरिज़्म की भावना को समझने के लिए बिहार की छठ पूजा का सुझाव दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि संविधान के अनुच्छेद 44 को सही मायने में समझने के लिए बिहार में इस त्यौहार को देखना चाहिए। जस्टिस कारोल ने बताया कि छठ पूजा सेक्युलरिज़्म का एक उदाहरण है क्योंकि इसमें विभिन्न समुदायों के लोग एक साथ आते हैं। उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि भारत की संवैधानिक भावना को कानूनी ग्रंथों से ज़्यादा समाज से जुड़कर समझा जा सकता है। पूर्व जज ने UCC को समय की ज़रूरत भी बताया।
