दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने 16 वर्षीय बलात्कार पीड़िता को 31 हफ्ते की प्रेग्नेंसी खत्म करने की इजाजत दे दी है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि नाबालिग पर बच्चे को जन्म देने और पालने का बोझ डालना ठीक नहीं होगा। कोर्ट ने माना कि बलात्कार पीड़िता नाबालिग के लिए गर्भपात कराना एक मानवाधिकार है, जो उसके गरिमापूर्ण अस्तित्व के लिए ज़रूरी है। मेडिकल बोर्ड की राय ने प्रक्रिया के लिए लड़की की फिटनेस की पुष्टि की। कोर्ट ने आपराधिक मामले के लिए ज़रूरी DNA टेस्टिंग हेतु भ्रूण के ऊतकों को संरक्षित करने का भी निर्देश दिया।
