PCMC to Trial AI Traffic Signals at Two Moshi Junctions to Ease Congestion

Times of India · automobile

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is planning to install an AI-based Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS) at two busy junctions in Moshi to alleviate traffic congestion. This system will dynamically adjust traffic signal timings based on real-time traffic volume, replacing fixed cycles. A seven-day trial will be conducted at the Moshi Gaothan and Bharatmata junctions on the Pune-Nashik highway. The PCMC aims to reduce waiting times and improve traffic flow, with plans to expand the technology to other congested areas if the trial proves successful.
