A 61-year-old former IIT Kanpur student, who topped his MSc Physics program and holds a PhD, is facing difficulties finding full-time employment in the US after leaving his software engineering job nearly two years ago. Despite over two decades of experience at companies like Verizon Wireless and TCS, he has been unable to secure a permanent position, suspecting age and a career gap are contributing factors. He has resorted to gig work and even sought crowdfunding to manage expenses, now considering a return to India.

61 साल के पूर्व आईआईटी कानपुर छात्र, जिन्होंने एमएससी फिजिक्स में टॉप किया था और पीएचडी भी की है, अमेरिका में फुल-टाइम नौकरी खोजने में मुश्किलों का सामना कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने लगभग दो साल पहले अपनी सॉफ्टवेयर इंजीनियरिंग की नौकरी छोड़ी थी। वेरिजोन वायरलेस और टीसीएस जैसी कंपनियों में 20 साल से ज़्यादा के अनुभव के बावजूद, उन्हें स्थायी पद नहीं मिल पा रहा है। उन्हें शक है कि उम्र और करियर में गैप इसके कारण हो सकते हैं। उन्होंने गिग वर्क का सहारा लिया है और खर्चों को पूरा करने के लिए क्राउडफंडिंग भी मांगी है। अब वे भारत लौटने पर विचार कर रहे हैं।
