FSSAI May Add Warning Labels On High-Nutrient Foods

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) informed the Supreme Court that it will consider implementing front-of-pack warning labels. These labels would be placed on packaged food items found to be high in specific nutrients of concern, such as sugar, salt, or fat.

भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा और मानक प्राधिकरण (FSSAI) ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट को बताया है कि वे पैकेट वाले खाने के सामान पर 'फ्रंट-ऑफ-पैक वार्निंग लेबल' लगाने पर विचार करेंगे। ये लेबल उन खाद्य पदार्थों पर लगेंगे जिनमें चीनी, नमक या फैट जैसे चिंताजनक पोषक तत्व ज़्यादा मात्रा में पाए जाते हैं। इससे ग्राहकों को सेहतमंद चुनाव करने में मदद मिलेगी।
