Odisha Forest Division Mandates Pledges For Solar Fence Users

Following recent father-son electrocution deaths, the Angul forest division in Odisha has implemented a self-declaration system for farmers using solar fences. This initiative requires farmers to sign an undertaking accepting responsibility for safe fence usage and preventing harm to humans and wildlife. The move aims to curb the misuse of farm fencing, particularly the illegal charging of fences with high-voltage electricity, which has caused numerous fatal incidents. Over 300 farmers have already submitted their declarations, with officials warning of action for violations.

हाल ही में पिता-पुत्र की बिजली से मौत के बाद, ओडिशा के अंगुल वन प्रभाग ने किसानों के लिए सोलर फेंस का सुरक्षित उपयोग करने हेतु एक स्व-घोषणा प्रणाली लागू की है। इस पहल के तहत किसानों को एक वचन पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर करना होगा, जिसमें वे सुरक्षित फेंसिंग के उपयोग और मनुष्यों व वन्यजीवों को नुकसान से बचाने की जिम्मेदारी स्वीकार करेंगे। इस कदम का उद्देश्य खेतों में फेंसिंग के दुरुपयोग, विशेष रूप से उच्च वोल्टेज बिजली से अवैध रूप से फेंस को चार्ज करने को रोकना है, जिससे कई घातक घटनाएं हुई हैं।
