CJI Suryakant Highlights UAPA Trial Speed Challenge

Chief Justice of India, Uday Umesh Lalit, has pointed out that ensuring speedy trials under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) remains a significant challenge. While acknowledging that the establishment of special courts has helped address part of the problem, he stressed the need for further improvements.

भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश यू. यू. ललित ने कहा है कि UAPA के तहत मामलों की तेज़ सुनवाई एक बड़ी चुनौती है। उन्होंने माना कि विशेष अदालतों के गठन से कुछ हद तक मदद मिली है, लेकिन सुधार की ज़रूरत पर ज़ोर दिया। यह सुनिश्चित करना ज़रूरी है कि ऐसे मामलों में न्याय जल्दी मिले।
