Supreme Court Joins INDIA Bloc's Plea With Another Petition Against EC

The Supreme Court has consolidated a petition filed by Rahul Gandhi and INDIA bloc leaders challenging the SIR process with a pre-existing plea by Rakesh Kumar Singh. Singh's petition questions alleged unilateral decisions by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanendra Kumar, including those made without the consent of other commissioners. The INDIA bloc's plea raises concerns about SIR procedures, Form 6 and 7 usage, and the EC's collective decision-making. A bench has issued notices, and both matters will be heard.
