Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge stated that the accused in the Bengaluru family massacre claimed humiliation by his wife's family, suggesting the killings were pre-planned. The accused, Indushekar, allegedly murdered his wife, mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, their wives, and his seven-year-old nephew over two days. Police suspect a domestic dispute over his wife's visits to her parental home. The accused reportedly used chemicals to clean the house, and police have recovered the seven-year-old's body, with others suspected to be dumped across the state.
