The Supreme Court has directed the Centre to establish a uniform procedure for disbursing financial assistance to rescued bonded labourers within seven days of their release. The court also urged the Centre to review the existing rehabilitation scheme within three months, aiming to increase financial aid and provide subsistence support during disbursement delays. A Bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Aparesh Kumar Singh issued these directions while hearing petitions highlighting delays and institutional failures in identifying and rehabilitating rescued individuals.
