Assam is launching a mission to transform Muga silk waste into high-value yarn. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that approximately 40% of cocoons for the golden silk are currently unused due to a lack of proper processing facilities. This initiative aims to utilize this waste effectively, creating valuable products and potentially boosting the silk industry in the state.

असम सरकार मूगा सिल्क के कचरे को कीमती धागे में बदलने का मिशन शुरू कर रही है। मुख्यमंत्री हिमंत बिस्वा सरमा ने बताया कि सोने जैसे रेशम के करीब 40% कोकून अभी बेकार जा रहे हैं क्योंकि उन्हें ठीक से प्रोसेस करने की सुविधा नहीं है। इस नई पहल से इस कचरे का सही इस्तेमाल होगा, जिससे अच्छी क्वालिटी के उत्पाद बनेंगे और राज्य के सिल्क उद्योग को भी बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
