The Election Commission has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court to refute claims that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar made decisions regarding SIR unilaterally. The commission stated that all three orders related to SIR, issued in June 2025, October 2025, and May 2026, were passed with the consensus of all members. The affidavit also clarified allegations concerning changes to Form 6, emphasizing that official comments on files do not constitute final decisions. The commission asserted that decisions are made collectively and approved by all commissioners.
