Cyclone Murasu has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal and is expected to make landfall on the south Andhra Pradesh coast. The India Meteorological Department has issued red and orange alerts for several districts, warning of extremely heavy to very heavy rainfall. High-speed winds of up to 110 kmph are anticipated. Coastal and Rayalaseema regions are on high alert as the state steps up preparedness for potential disruptions.
