World's Largest Female Land Sculpture 'Lady of the North' Showcased in New Drone Images

New drone images highlight the immense scale of the 'Lady of the North', the world's largest land sculpture depicting a female form. Located in Northumberland, the 100-foot-tall artwork spans a quarter-mile and was constructed using 1.5 million tonnes of material from a former mine. Conceived by artist Charles Jencks, construction finished in 2010. Designed as a living landscape, it features hydro-seeded vegetation that changes with the seasons. The sculpture requires annual maintenance, including cutting steep sections by hand and with machinery, to preserve its contours.
